Mind-body practices that blend science, tradition, and imagination

About Sarah

My Approach

I have a deep belief in the power of embodied self-expression. My work weaves together over 25 years of personal practice in movement, writing, creativity, observing, and listening.

I created Possible by Design as a space for those seeking realignment — whether from burnout, disconnection, or simply the sense that something inside you is ready for more. My approach is gentle, integrative, and rooted in the belief that your body holds wisdom, your story matters, and healing doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.

My work draws from somatics, trauma-informed yoga, expressive arts, and mind-body research. I meet people where they are with curiosity, creativity, and care.

This work isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about reclaiming your wholeness. As someone who has experienced self-acceptance, healing, and reconnection through yoga and somatics, it’s something I know well.

To continue to deepen my offerings, I’m currently completing my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling and my 800-hour yoga therapy training, where I’m constantly gaining new knowledge to integrate into my coaching and creative programs.

Working With Me

I strive to create a warm, open, and non-judgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are. Be loud and wild. Be quiet and introspective. Be quirky, edgy, and free. I’m an observer and a listener who is deeply energized by the uniqueness of each human being and the stories they carry.

My studies in yoga therapy and somatics have deepened my awareness of how different bodies, and nervous systems, hold and express what we carry. My current training in mental health counseling has sharpened my sensitivity to the lived experiences of diverse populations.

That said, if it turns out I’m not the right guide for you, there are never hard feelings. Honesty and openness are essential. If you share what’s on your mind, I may be able to connect you with someone who’s better aligned with what you need right now.

Background

I started doing yoga in 1995 and, after 20 years of practice, I became a Registered Yoga Teacher and Certified Somatic Healing Practitioner. My personal experiences with yoga and somatic expression have had a profound effect on my well-being and my life and my mission is to share that magic with others.

For the past 15 years, I led user research in Fortune 500 and Silicon Valley healthcare companies. Behind the performance, I was burnt out and felt so disconnected from my authentic self. That’s when I found my way back through breath, movement, and creativity.

Now, I help others do the same.

Part of my journey also included reconnecting with my creativity. Most notably, writing and music. Prior to working in research, I led a creative team of writers, designers, and music programmers for an entertainment startup. And on a personal note, I love music. I play guitar and dabble in many instruments including handpan drum, ukulele, and mandolin.

I bring somatics, yoga, breathwork, and creativity into my programs and 1:1 work (by invitation only, always optional).

I would love you meet you and explore possibilities.

About my Yoga Therapy Training

I’m currently studying for my Yoga Therapy Certification (C-IAYT) at The Mindfulness Center under the guidance of Dr. Debbie Norris, Psychologist-in-Residence at American University with  over 30 years of experience conducting mind-body research with the National Institute of Health (NIH) and other organizations. My teachers include Aurora Hutchinson, Dr. Steffany Moonaz, Megan Doyle, Darin Somma, and James Foulkes.

I chose to study at The Mindfulness Center due to the strong foundation in research and trauma-informed teaching, as well as the ancient practice of yoga. This is foundational to the mix of research (science), ancient healing, and creativity I bring to everything I teach.
