I hear that. Somatic coaching is different. It’s not a formula, and it’s not about fixing you. It’s about reconnecting — slowly, honestly — with your body, your breath, your voice, your own inner wisdom.
Â
This might be the gentle, grounded support you need.
Through somatic coaching, I help you tune into your mind -body connection to release tension, address unhealthy holding patterns, and understand the relationship between physical sensations and emotion.
There’s no one right way to show up and you don’t need to have experience with yoga or movement. Just bring yourself — as you are.
Somatics is a body-centered approach that invites you to reconnect with your inner landscape through sensation, movement, breath, and awareness. Rather than viewing the body as something separate from the mind or emotions, somatics recognizes the body as a source of wisdom and a pathway to healing, growth, and expression. The word “soma” comes from the Greek for “living body” — not just the physical body, but the felt experience of being alive.
Each session is co-created tailored to your needs. We begin by checking in on goals, questions, or insights. From there, we might begin with grounding or breath awareness, followed by gentle movement, guided inquiry, or expressive practices like vocalization, free-form movement, or writing. I’ll guide you in noticing sensations, patterns, and impulses, helping you attune to what your body is communicating. The goal isn’t to fix or analyze, but to foster presence, curiosity, and choice, leading to more embodied clarity and resilience.
Not at all. Somatic coaching is accessible to everyone, regardless of background. You just need a willingness to slow down and listen inward. I’ll guide you step by step, offering options that meet you where you are, with room for exploration and ease along the way.
While talk therapy primarily focuses on thoughts, feelings, and stories through dialogue, somatic coaching brings attention to the body as an equal participant in the process. We may use words, but they’re paired with movement, sensation tracking, and embodied exploration. You become familiar with where and how your body holds tension and emotion.Somatic coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, it’s an integrative modality that supports self-awareness, regulation, and creative growth.
There is some overlap, especially since both can involve breath, movement, and mindfulness. However, yoga therapy is a more clinical and traditionally structured modality rooted in yogic philosophy and often tailored to specific physical or mental health conditions. Somatic coaching, on the other hand, is more fluid and integrative, drawing from somatic psychology, embodiment practices, expressive arts, and nervous system education. It centers your lived experience and the body’s capacity for change, play, and insight.
